Punta Gorda, FL to Alaska and back during the Summer of 2010
After months of planning we finally hit the road North in early June of 2010. Our route of travel will take us first to Charlotte, NC to spend a few days in the Smoky Mountains with Bob, Dana, Elizabeth and Hannah.
We had promised to do so last year but were rained out. Had we lived in Oconoluskee, NC in the 1800's, and been successful farmers, we might have hoped for a mansion such as this featured at the Great Smoky Mountains National Park visitor center. We will depart Maggie Valley on June 21 and make tracks North and West to spend a couple of Days at the Mall of America in Minneapolis. If you are going shopping it might as well be a the world's largest shopping mall, right?
On 29 June we head due West through North Dakota and Montana to Sweet Grass, MT where we will enter the Province of Alberta. On Monday July 5, we will arrive in Dawson Creek, British Columbia after 3,853 miles in 15 days. No telling how many rest stops there will be in between. Since we will be close to Wi-Fi sites periodically we will start the narrative, with photo evidence, after our departure from Maggie Valley.

Our mode of travel and home away from home.
"Da Coach"
Since October 2003 our means of travel, on dry land, has been our Holiday Rambler Endeavor motor home, which has taken us from Saint Johns, Newfoundland to Victoria on Vancouver Island as well as to most of the major National Parks in the Western US and Canada. We've been in 42 US states and 10 Canadian provinces. This year's trip will be our longest in both distance and time away and is the top item on our personal "Bucket List." Four months and 13,900 miles should be enough for this summer! We'll see!
